Detailed Tutorial
In this tutorial, we will explore how to use the powerful filters in Funnelytics to gain valuable insights into your website's analytics.
Funnelytics offers various filters that allow you to segment and analyze your data effectively. We'll walk you through each filter and its functionalities, helping you make the most out of your Funnelytics canvas.
Date Range Filter
What does the filter do?
The Date Range filter allows you to choose a specific date range to analyze your analytics data.
This filter is always active and cannot be turned off. You can select a preset date range or customize it according to your preferences.
By adjusting the date range, you can focus on specific time periods to understand user behavior over time.
Settings Steps:
Click on the Day Range filter to open the calendar.
Select a preset date range or define a custom range.
Apply the selected date range to view relevant analytics data on your canvas.
Country Filter
What does the filter do?
The Country Filter enables you to segment your data based on the countries from which your website visitors originate.
You can gain insights into user behavior from different countries and identify potential geographic trends.
This filter works on the tracked data, meaning that the country list will only include the countries of the tracked users.
Settings Steps:
Click on the Country Filter to view the list of available countries.
Choose specific countries from the dropdown menu or use the search function to find a particular country.
Apply the selected country filter to analyze user behavior based on their geographical location.
Device Filter
What does the filter do?
The Device Filter allows you to analyze your analytics data based on the type of devices used by your website visitors.
You can gain insights into user behavior on different devices, such as mobile (phones or tablets) versus desktop computers. Understanding how users interact with your website on different devices can help you optimize the user experience.
Settings Steps:
Click on the Device Filter to reveal the available options.
Choose from "All Devices," "Mobile," or "Desktop" to filter the analytics data accordingly.
Apply the selected device filter to see how user behavior varies across different devices.
People Filter
What does the filter do?
The People Filter is a powerful feature in Funnelytics that allows you to select specific users and analyze their interactions with your assets.
You can use this filter for troubleshooting purposes or to analyze the journey of individual users.
Settings Steps:
Open the People Filter panel to view the list of tracked users within the selected date range.
Use the search function to find specific users or select a single user for in-depth analysis.
Apply the People Filter to gain insights into individual user behavior and interactions with your website.
Step Filter
What does the filter do?
The Step Filter is another essential feature in Funnelytics that allows you to select elements on the canvas and see the users who interacted with those elements.
This filter lets you segment users based on specific actions they performed on your website. You can choose multiple elements and decide whether to combine the selection with an "OR" or "AND" selection logic to create powerful combinations and analyze user behavior more comprehensively.
It provides valuable insights into user behavior based on their interactions with different elements.
Settings Steps:
Activate the People Who Performed Filter and use the crosshair cursor to select one or multiple elements on the canvas.
Define the selection logic as either "OR" or "AND." In "OR," users are included if they performed any of the selected actions. In "AND," users must have performed all the selected actions to be included.
Apply the filter to analyze user segments based on their interactions with the chosen elements.
Applying and Removing Filters
Whenever you make changes to the filters, you will see yellow exclamation marks next to the modified elements. These indicate that changes have not been applied yet. To see the updated data, you must apply the filters.
Settings Steps:
After making changes to any filter, click on the "Apply Filters" button to update the data on your canvas.
To remove a single filter, you can do so individually by adjusting the settings for that specific filter.
Alternatively, click "Clear Filters" to reset all filters and view your analytics data without any segmentation.
Using Funnelytics filters can provide valuable insights into your website's user behavior.
